--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Slant exercise board is useful in stretching tight heel cords both after surgery and as part of an ongoing therapy routine. Cut two wedges from 3/4 inch plywood measuring 6 1/2 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches long. Glue these to the ends of a board measuring approximately 14 inches wide by 21 inches long. Screw the wedges into position using 1 1/4 inch screws. Glue a support stick measuring 3 2/4 inches by 19 1/2 inches to the bottom inner edge of the wedge board. Sand the board and apply a liquid plastic varnish. Glue strips of emery cloth or traction strips to the bottom of the board so that the child will not slip.
