Telestik (Model Ad3000)

The TeleStik, model AD3000, is a reacher designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or mobility disabilities or spinal cord injury. This reacher has a telescoping stainless steel arm equipped with a washable UltraStik adhesive disk to pick up items weighing up to to one pound. The reacher has a soft, slip-resistant PVC grip. To use, place the adhesive disk flat on the object that is to be picked up. Press gently and bring object to the user. For heavier objects, after pressing gently, leave adhesive on the object for two seconds and then bring the object toward the user. This reacher is also equipped with a hook behind the adhesive disk. The hook can be used to push, pull or drag objects. In addition, the hook is helpful for those who have difficulty extending the telescoping arm. Simply attach the hook to something fixed, such as a cupboard door handle and walk or wheel backwards until the telescoping arm is extended to the length required. After many uses, the adhesive will become less sticky. When this occurs, simply remove the adhesive (attached with Velcro) and wash the adhesive with mild soap and warm water. The adhesive dries in seconds and becomes sticky again. OPTIONS: Replacement disks are available. DIMENSIONS: The arm telescopes from 7.25 to 34 inches and the grip is 0.5 inch in diameter.
