The Brunton Braille Compass, model 16B, is a tactile compass designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The compass has a raised dial on which an arrow represents north, while east, south, and west are represented by Braille letters. Dots denote intercardinal points. The user holds the compass level for roughly 10 seconds to allow the compass card to find North, then opens the cover slowly to lock the card in place. With a finger, the user finds the graduation on the compass card that is closest to the raised index line on the dial. This is the direction the user is facing. DIMENSIONS (HxDxW): 3 x 0.63 x 2.13 inches.
