Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training: ASIST

Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities

Categories:

The ASIST model teaches effective intervention skills while helping build suicide prevention networks in the community. Participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. The ASIST method of intervention helps reduce suicidal feelings and helps connect people to safety. To register for an event email or call Tracy Stacy (provide your name, phone, and email). All events will be held in the training room at 1234 Empire St. unless otherwise noted on flyer.

Solano Moves promotes physical activity and is launching a parks prescription program called "PaRx" to get outdoors and be active!
Labyrinth - two local churches received mini-grants to create a walking meditation path in Vallejo.
Health In All Policies - works to ensure impacts on health are considered in public policies, and will soon contribute to a city?s general plan.

Tuesday Walks By the Pond

Walks by the Pond is a new activity taking place every Tuesday. Walking groups meet at the Adult Recreation Center lobby around 9:50 a.m. and begin walking at 10 a.m. Walking groups are guided on a 30 minute walk by Parks & Recreation Staff. Participants enjoy these walks for social interaction and opportunities to stay active. Walkers often share with each other stories about past careers and family life. They share cooking habits and other recreational interests. Currently the walks are taking place around the pond at the City Hall campus. As the group increases conditioning, they will venture out to other areas of Fairfield.
