Vicki Hillhouse: Town Hall Forum on disabilities, jobs

April 09-- Apr. 9--Improving the lives of local residents living with disabilities will be the focus of a Thursday Town Hall Forum.

The Governor's Committee on Disability Issues and Employment wants to hear ideas on improving the lives of Walla Walla and College Place residents.

The two-hour meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at SonBridge Community Center, 1200 S.E. 12th Ave.

Among the topics of discussion: accessible housing, services for families in need, jobs for people with disabilities, accessible transportation, and other issues affecting those with disabilities, their families and their advocates.

The top concerns from the meeting will be taken to local elected officials, service providers and leaders in the disability community the next day.
