BRIEF: Autism Society forms chapter in Henderson County

Dec. 22--The Autism Society of North Carolina has formed a new chapter in Henderson County.
The chapter will provide a place for families of children and adults with autism to meet, share and learn about autism, according to the Autism Society of North Carolina's website.
One in 59 children may be diagnosed with autism in North Carolina, according to the website. Additionally, more than 20,000 individuals receive direct services annually in North Carolina through the Autism Society's services.
The first meeting of the new chapter will be held at 6 p.m., Jan. 30 at Hendersonville Presbyterian Church, 699 N. Grove St.
The agenda includes learning about the services available through ASNC, sharing resources, information and support, and planning the next chapter meeting.
