The not quite New Year's party with turtle dance music: Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Turtle dance music is an autism friendly, all-inclusive show including music and dance.

Story time: Thursdays in December at 10:30 a.m. Children will sing, dance, clap, wiggle, jiggle and sometimes craft the morning away in a kid-friendly atmosphere. KIds up to age 5 are welcome to attend with caregivers.

Learn a new language from home: The Mango Languages online language-learning system. Each lesson combines real-life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions on more than 40 foreign language courses available and 16 ESL courses. Commercial Leader: The digitized program enables patrons to perform free keyword searches from home or within the library. Select "online resources" on the website to access the digitized copies of news articles, photographs and family history. For information, call ext. 3.

WiFi Hotspots: The library is offering "Internet to Go," a project to lend Wi-Fi hotspots to patrons. The hotspot is portable, so you can connect to your device almost wherever you are. Call ext. 7 with any questions about this program.

Museum passes: The library has purchased vouchers to the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Each voucher can be redeemed for free general admission and one special exhibition, film or live animal exhibition of the visitor's choosing. Access recipes from home: The Lyndhurst Library offers A to Z World Food, a food, culture and traditional recipe database for 174 countries. Access food glossaries, 6,500-plus recipes, food culture articles and food history timelines from your home by going to lyndhurstlibrary.org. A Lyndhurst library card number will be needed to log in.

Crochet Group: This weekly group is for beginner to advanced levels. The members teach and help each other. You must bring your own supplies. Meetings take place every Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Mobile Hotspots: For patrons ages 18 and older who might not have their own Internet connection, have temporarily lost connection at home or have run out of data. Hotspots can be taken for up to two weeks. There are 10 hotspots that can be borrowed. Must have a library card and be in good standing.

Special programs:

Alzheimer's 101: Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. This program provides a comprehensive overview for anyone who wants to learn about memory loss, Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of dementia. Planning for the future, coping with behavioral and other changes, and accessing community resources are also reviewed. Registration is required as space is limited.

Medicare and Medicaid Updates Program for 2018: Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Presented by Benjamin D. Eckman, Esq. (elder law specialist). Registration is required as space is limited.

Project Preemie: Jan. 20 at 12:30 p.m., Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and March 10 at 12:30 p.m. Crochet and knitting to benefit preemies and their families. We will be creating care packages for families to take home when they are released from the NICU. Any questions please call the library.

Chair Yoga: Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. Come for a calming hour of stretches and strengthening for your body and mind with certified yoga instructor Anna Gramlich. Register in person at the library. A $10 deposit refundable with program attendance is required. Any questions please call the library.

Friday Flicks Matinee: Movies start at 2 p.m. and refreshments will be served.

Meditation: A guided meditation program is held every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is required.

Adult Craft Circle: The Craft Circle meets the first, third and fifth Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All levels are welcome, from beginner to expert. Bring your own project, work at your own pace and enjoy the company of fellow crafters.

Friends of the East Rutherford Memorial Library: The group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Friends of the Library members actively promote library services and resources while sharing their love of books with the community.

Evening Book Club: The club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Tech Tutor: A roster of one-session, one-on-one classes to help ease even the most novice techie into the world of electronic resources. Sessions last about one hour and will make use of library computers. Or bring your own device. These classes are for East Rutherford patrons and require registration.

Children's programs:

Lego Club: For children ages 5 and older. Children will be able to play and challenge their creativity. The club meets the second and fourth Mondays of every month from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Bowwow Book Club: Read to Rodney, the therapy pup. The program is geared for children ages 3 to 9 to help improve their reading ability and build self-confidence. The club meets every month on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sessions are in 15-minute increments. Call to reserve a time slot. Registration is required.

Art Club: The club will meet the first Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. Children will be exposed to a different artist each month, then create a piece of art inspired in the same style as that artist. For kids ages 6 and older. Registration is required.

Story Time with the East Rutherford Police Department: A special monthly story time on the fourth Monday of every month at 10:30 a.m. One of our finest will read a story. Children up to age 5 are welcome. Registration is required.

Teen programs:

Basic ESL classes: Basic English as a Second Language classes will be taught by a certified instructor. The classes are intended for beginner to intermediate level students and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. Students may register in person at the main desk.

English Conversation Group: English language students are invited to attend on Mondays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and on Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This is a free program and all are welcome. No registration is required.

Tech Tutor: The library offers appointment-based services to provide personalized instruction on downloading free e-books, e-magazines, audio books, music and movies.
