Reim elected to Special Olympics Texas Board of Directors

Flower Mound Leader - 1/10/2018

Highland Village Police Chief Doug Reim has been elected to Special Olympics Texas' (SOTX) Board of Directors. He will hold a two-year term in his new role in the LETR position.

"I couldn't be more humbled to be part of such an outstanding organization," Reim said. "Special thanks to all of those who were part of the decision process to allow me to further serve."

"We are elated to have Doug join the SOTX Board of Directors," said Chad Tywater, SOTX board chairman. "He has demonstrated his commitment to our athletes over the past few years, and I look forward to his guidance and participation on the board."

Reim has served as a member of the SOTX President's Advisory Council since 2012 and is a member of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). The LETR is SOTX's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle, and the group raised more than $1.4 million in 2016 to support more than 58,300 SOTX athletes across the state.

Reim is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Texas Police Chiefs Association, where he currently serves as the first vice president of the North Texas Chiefs Association. He is also a member of the Highland Village Rotary Club.
