CAVA Exhibit Reception and Gallery Talk l A reception for CAVA's April-May Exhibit, The Susanne Floyd Gunter Art Collection, will be held April 20 from 6-8 p.m. A gallery talk will begin at 6 p.m.The CAVA Gallery is located at 201 W. Frederick St. The exhibit will be on display until May 23.

Zay Day for Autism Awareness l The first annual Zay Day in honor of Autism Awareness Month will be held Saturday, April 21 from 4-8 p.m. at 602 E. Buford St. in Gaffney. Stuff the Bus l PeachCenter Ministries will have their 3rd annual Stuff the Bus event to support its mission and service to the community on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Event will be held, rain or shine, in the parking lot in front of Dollar Tree. Please come and donate canned goods, non-perishables, personal hygiene items, toilet tissue and other useful items.

SBCC Taste Test Event l Sisters and Brothers Committed to the Community present The Ultimate Taste Test. Be a food critic for the day, and come out and taste various foods and help raise money for a great cause. Tickets will be sold - $1 each for a 'taste.' The taste test will be held Saturday, April 21 from 4-7 p.m. at 122 E. Robinson St. in Gaffney. All proceeds will go to SBCC.

The first seven people will receive a free ticket to A Down Home Gospel Program that will be held at Gaffney Middle SchoolApril 21 at 6 p.m.

Worship Under the Trees l Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 308 College Drive, Gaffney, invites you to join us for casual, kid-friendly worship under the trees and stay for lunch of slow-smoked pulled pork and all the sides. Come dressed for the outdoors and bring your appetite ? we'll feed your body and your soul! The service begins at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 22. Get your mom and 'em and y'all come!

Family Day at Island Creek l The Island Creek Baptist Church Family, 2112 Battleground Road, Cowpens, will observe its annual friends and family day on Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. Rev. Jacob Underwood, along with his choir and congregation of Grace Baptist Church Redemption House in Anderson, will be the special guest. Everyone is invited to attend.

Healthy Laughter Event l The Links, Inc. of Gaffney and Spartanburg presents the Christian Comedian Akintunde on Sunday, April 22 at 6 p.m. at the Chapman Cultural Center.

This "Healthy Laughter" event will start at 3 p.m. with free health screenings, vendors and informational sessions on living a healthier life. Tickets for the comedy show can be purchased the day of the event or online at chapmanculturalcenter.org.

Fish Fry l Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 2160 Smithford Rd., Hickory Grove, SC, is holding an Fish Fry April 20 and April 21 from 4-8 p.m. each day. There will be fish, french fries, hushpuppies, slaw and dessert. Cost is $10 per plate, dine-in (all you can eat, dine-in only) or take out and $4 for children 4-12 (dine-in only). All food is cooked on site. Proceeds go to Mt. Vernon UMC Building/Improvement Fund.

Retired Teachers to Meet l The Cherokee County Retired Teachers will meet Thursday, April 26 at 12 p.m. in the Limestone College cafeteria.

Mission Team Fundraiser l Broad River Baptist Church Mission Team will have their annual fundraiser Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Barbecue plates with slaw and baked beans will be sold for $8. Fundraiser will be held in the church fellowship hall, 419 W. Cherokee St., Blacksburg.

Hot Dog Plate Fundraiser l Christian Heights Baptist Church, 605 6th St., Gaffney, will be hosting a hot dog fundraiser April 21 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Plates are $5 and include 2 hot dogs, chips, drink and a cookie.

Gospel Singing l Cherokee Falls Baptist Church, 109 School St., Cherokee Falls, SC, will have a gospel singing Sunday, April 22 at 6 p.m. The guests will be "Higher Ground." Come worship with us in song.

Spring Revival l A spring revival will be held at Bethany Baptist Church, 215 Wilkinsville Hwy, Sunday, April 22 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., April 23- 25 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Vince and Brenda Tharpe will present "Art Alive Ministries." Witness the gospel of Christ unfold through chalk art, contemporary Christian music and special effects.

Christian Education Seminar l The Thickety Mountain Baptist Congress of Christian Education Seminar will be held April 23-26 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church, 915 Concord Rd. Classes for all ages will be provided. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

YWA Fish Fry l The Thickety Mountain YWAs (Young Women's Auxiliary) will have a Fish Fry on Saturday, April 28 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the rear entrance of Limestone Baptist Church on South Johnson Street.

Fish plates are $8 and fish sandwiches are $4. The menu is two big pieces of fish, cole slaw, baked beans, bread, and beverage. Delivery is available for orders of 10 plates or more. The proceeds will be used for Thickety Mountain YWAs community service projects.

Life Changers Church Anniversary l Senior Pastor/Founder Ronald Frazier and the Life Changers Church, 2123 Pacolet Hwy, Gaffney, invites the public to join them as they celebrate 19 years of ministry. On Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m., they will welcome Pastor Lewis Duckett and the Galilee Baptist Church as the special guest and special musical guest The Gospel Tones of Gaffney. Woman's Missionary Convention Program l The Thickety Mountain Woman's Baptist Missionary Convention will have their quarterly 5th Sunday Program on April 29 in the Mary Gaffney Knuckles Auditorium, Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Building, 1505 Old Post Rd., at 3 p.m. The program theme is "Update Your Spirituali-Tea". Missionaries from various churches will speak and give pointers about "Updating Your Spirituali- Tea". Special music will be rendered by Bethel Baptist Church praise team and Concord Baptist Church choir.
