BRIEF: Dancing for a purpose at KindTree-Autism Rocks benefit Saturday night

Register-Guard - 5/18/2018

May 17--It's a night to dance for a purpose.

A benefit for KindTree-Autism Rocks, the nonprofit is hosting a Saturday event to dance like nobody is watching.

The evening will feature celebrity emcee Slug Queen Santa Frida Elisa Refugio Babosita, music by Latin instrumental Americana group Mood Area 52 and Cinnamon's Late Night Dance Party.

KindTree-Autism Rocks provides support, services and information to encourage and improve the quality of life for individuals and families living with autism, as well as for the professionals who serve them. Since its founding in 1997, the all-volunteer group has maintained its focus on serving and celebrating people on the autism spectrum through art, education, recreation and community. The benefit will have a number of raffle prizes, which include four passes to the 2018 Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival.

The all-ages night of dancing begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Vets Club Ballroom, 1626 Willamette St. Tickets are $15 (kindtree.org).
