Step-father faces sexual abuse charges

Times West Virginian - 9/4/2019

Sep. 4--FAIRMONT -- An Idamay man faces multiple sex crimes charges after an investigation by local law enforcement.

Joshua John Fouse, 29, of 1 Chestnut St., Idamay, was arrested Tuesday after Cpl. T.W. Morris appeared before a Marion County Magistrate to present the case. Using warrants they obtained after finding probable cause, police charged Fouse with two counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian, one count of third-degree sexual assault and one count of exhibition of obscene matter to minors.

According to the criminal complaint, Fouse engaged in sex acts with his step-daughter at least three times on or around Aug. 1, 2018.

In a separate criminal complaint, police said, Fouse used his cell phone to display sexually-explicit images of two women engaged in sex to two female minor children under his care. According to the complaint, Fouse showed the pornography to the young girls on or around June 12 this year.

The complaint also states that Fouse "induced" his step-daughter and another juvenile female under age 16 "to engage in sexual contact and sexual intrusion with each other" while the children were under his care.

Police said all of this took place at Fouse's home in Idamay.

Fouse is in the North Central Regional Jail where he is being held in lieu of $100,012 bond.
