Former Orlando respiratory therapist sentenced 14 years for child porn conviction

A former respiratory therapist convicted on child pornography charges was sentenced to more than a decade behind bars, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
Vorarut Vorasiangsuk, 37, received the 14-year federal sentence Thursday after being found guilty in May of receiving and and possessing thousands of photos and videos of child sex abuse, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
He’s being held at Seminole County Jail.
Vorasiangsuk, who prosecutors said worked with babies and children at AdventHealth in Orlando, was arrested in January after a search of his home found multiple hard drives where authorities said he stored the images.
Many of the images were downloaded from the file-sharing program Bittorrent Roundup, and Vorasiangsuk told FBI agents he also used websites like 4chan to view child porn, according to an affidavit.
Vorasiangsuk admitted to FBI agents he was “addicted” to the material for about 16 years but said he never touched a child inappropriately.
