Man, 53, charged in girl's molestation

Sep. 13--A Gainesville man accused of repeatedly molesting a 14-year-old girl was arrested Friday morning after the teen reported him to local authorities.

Michael Vincent Ridlon, 53, faces one charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years old, according to an Alachua County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

The girl told the Department of Children and Families that Ridlon has sexually abused her for the past four years, dating back to when she was in elementary school.

Ridlon was brought to the Sheriff's Office for an interview, but declined to answer questions until his attorney was present.

He was booked at the Alachua County jail and bond was set at $500,000.
