Centralia Man Back in Jail for Allegedly Threatening Domestic Violence Victim With Knife

The Chronicle - 12/28/2017

Dec. 27--Police say Centralia resident Nigel Corleone Christian was so incensed over a recent domestic violence charge that upon his release from jail he returned to the alleged victim's home and threatened her with a knife.

Now he's back in jail with bail set at $100,000.

According to information provided by the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office, on Dec. 22, law enforcement officers responded to a report of an assault in the 400 block of West Pine Street in Centralia. At the scene, the victim informed police that her boyfriend, Christian, had just been released from jail after being arrested the previous evening on a domestic violence assault charge.

The victim told police that Christian confronted her in the kitchen of the home, which is also listed as the suspect's address. She said he held a knife at chest level, pointed toward her and threatened "that if the charges go through for domestic violence, you'll pay."

The victim said she was fearful that Christian would use the knife against her and added that he told her to "leave before anything else happened."

Christian was later discovered by police hiding in the garage of the residence beneath boxes. A 4-inch knife matching the description of the weapon allegedly brandished by Christian was also recovered.

Christian, who was identified as a scholarship student athlete at Centralia College by his attorney, is facing one charge of first-degree burglary, one charge of second-degree assault, one charge of intimidating a witness, and one count of violation of a court order.

On Tuesday in Lewis County Supreme Court, Christian was ordered held in custody on $100,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 4.
