BRIEF: Chickasha man under investigation for child abuse

The Express-Star - 1/3/2018

Jan. 02--A Chickasha man is being investigated for child abuse after a two-year-old was brought into the emergency room with several injuries, according to an incident report.

Corey Henderson allegedly admitted to slapping the child in the face, poking the child in the chest with his fingers and shaking the child by grabbing her shoulders on the night of Dec. 27, the report said.

"Henderson admitted he abused [the victim] because he was frustrated," according to Michael Francis, a CLEET Certified Police Officer for the State of Oklahoma, said.

On Dec. 28, the child was taken to the University of Oklahoma Children's Hospital where a physician reported the child was allegedly a victim of a pattern of child abuse over a period of time, according to the incident report.

The report states the child had two subdural hematomas, multiple scratches, bruises and swelling. The Department of Human Services determined that the child was a victim of abuse and took custody of the child.
