BRIEF: $3.6M bail for man accused of decade of sexual abuse

Jan. 11--A Red Bluff man accused of sexually abusing a child for a decade is behind bars on $3.6 million bail.

Raymond Cruz, 50 was arrested at La Corona restaurant in Red Bluff on Jan. 5 by a Red Bluff Police Department detective following a week-long investigation into the suspect's alleged repeated sexual assault of a child.

He appeared in Tehama County Court on Wednesday for arraignment.

Cruz was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14 by force or fear, oral copulation with victim under 14 and suspect has a 10 years age difference, oral copulation with victim under 16 and suspect is over 21 years of age, aggravated sexual assault of a child to commit rape, aggravated sexual assault of a child to commit oral copulation, false imprisonment, assault with intent to commit rape or oral copulation, kidnapping for purpose of rape or oral copulation, rape by force or fear, ongoing sexual abuse of a child, endangering child or causing child or permitting child to suffer physical pain, and mental suffering or injury.
