Police: Man raped woman, tried to pour cleaner in her mouth

Portsmouth Herald - 1/18/2018

EPPING - A local man was indicted on nine charges stemming from a series of alleged assaults, including an attempt to pour Mr. Clean cleaner into the victim's mouth while forcing it open.

Todd Frederick, 47, of 60 Mill Pond Road, faces charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault, attempted first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, criminal threatening, two counts of simple assault, obstructing report of a crime/injury, and domestic violence.

The crimes occurred between July 2 and 3, 2017, in Epping and Hampton, according to indictments from a Rockingham Superior Court grand jury. Frederick allegedly sexually assaulted the victim while she was sleeping, held her head attempting to pour cleaner fluid into her mouth, and engaged in strangulation. It is also alleged he terrorized the victim by telling her he would kill her cat.

According to the indictments, further crimes occurred in Hampton when Frederick assaulted the victim inside a motor vehicle and used physical force to block her from accessing her cellphone.

Frederick is scheduled for arraignment in Rockingham Superior CourtFeb. 2. Indictments mean a grand jury found enough information to take the case to trial and are not findings of guilt.
