April 07--MOULTON -- A Lawrence County sheriff deputy was charged with domestic violence Wednesday in connection with an incident that allegedly took place 10 months ago, according to court records.

Blake Landon Burns, 33, 910 Maud Road, Cherokee, was arrested on the misdemeanor harassment charge and released from the Lawrence County Jail on a $1,000 property bond, records show.

"We've suspended him with pay pending court action," Mitchell said Friday night. "He's one of our patrol officers. He's been with us since 2013."
