Man arrested for child abuse

A Cookeville man was arrested Monday for allegations of child abuse.

The arrest warrant names Joshua Sisco, 26, of West Jackson Street, as the suspect.

According to the warrant, Sisco had been drinking when he went to the Dollar Store to pick up some household goods. But he allegedly left his two young children at home alone while he ran his errands.

One child is 11 months old and the other is 2 years old, according to the warrant.

The warrant states Sisco had drank a 40-ounce beer and had two shots of vodka.

He was arrested for two counts of child abuse. His total bond is $4,000.

In other recent arrests:

Penny Martin, 43, of Cookeville, was arrested Monday for using food stamps fraudulently. Her bond is $2,500.

Angelia Burr, 52, of Cookeville, was arrested Monday for theft of property worth $10,000 to $60,000 and failing to appear. She is being held without bond.

Judy Groft, 58, of Pennsylvania, was arrested Monday for DUI and cited for violating the implied consent law. Her bond is $1,000.

Dolores West, 59, of Baxter, was arrested Thursday for first offense DUI. Her bond is $750.
