BRIEF: Proceedings pushed to Tuesday morning in trooper's molestation trial

Times Leader - 4/17/2018

April 17--WILKES-BARRE -- Proceedings were set to begin Monday in the case of a state trooper accused of molesting a minor, but they were pushed to Tuesday morning.

Patrick Finn, 47, of Harrisburg, is accused of crawling into bed with the 9-year-old girl and telling her he wanted to have sex with her.

The incident allegedly occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 4, 2016.

Jury selection in the case against Finn, a corporal at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Carlisle, was set to start at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, but counsel spent much of the afternoon in chambers with Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough.

Eventually, the jury selection process was pushed to Tuesday morning.

Finn originally agreed to a plea deal last year, but replaced his attorney Demetrius Fannick with Peter Paul Olszewski, who sought to bring the case to trial.
