Events this week part of child abuse prevention efforts

Roswell Daily Record - 4/18/2018

A local organization's efforts to prevent child abuse, neglect and abandonment and to help affected youth will be highlighted by events this week as Child Abuse Awareness month continues.

Today is Purple Day, when people and organizations are urged to wear or display purple to signify their support of child abuse prevention and the Royal Family KIDS of Roswell, an organization that provides a free summer camp experience with adult mentors for children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected.

Several events are planned for the day, as well as during the month, to provide support for children through the Royal Family KIDS program.

Wednesday's events include a 7 a.m. prayer breakfast at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 505 N. Pennsylvania Ave.; a clothing and supplies drive at Wal-Mart on North Main Street from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and an all-day fundraiser at Chili's Grill and Bar, 4500 N. Main St. More information is available on the website, purpledayroswell.com.
