PAPD Det. Dize at national conference on child abuse

PRINCESS ANNE - Princess Anne Police Detective Sue Dize attended the 34th International Symposium on Child Abuse held mid-March in Huntsville, Ala.

This conference provided expert training and numerous networking opportunities to professionals in the child maltreatment field, and is one of the few conferences that addresses all aspects of child maltreatment, including but not limited to physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, exposure to violence, poly-victimization, exploitation, intervention, trafficking, and prevention.

The trip was paid for through a grant from the Department of Social Services. There were over 160 workshops available for many different facets of child abuse situations, with many focused on law enforcement.

Police Chief Tim Bozman said, "It's really good training," adding that Detective Dize is become very effective in this area of investigation.
