Burglarized homes, stolen vehicles fill this week's Savage police report

Police Report

The Savage Police Department responded to the following incidents May 14-21. This is not a comprehensive list of all the incidents to which the department responded.

ASSAULT

May 17: A 51-year-old Savage man was arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault after officers responded to a report of an assault at a Savage residence in the 1300 block of Dakota Avenue.

May 18: A 43-year-old Savage man was arrested for gross misdemeanor malicious punishment of a child and misdemeanor domestic assault after officers responded to a report of an upset child alone on a Savage street in the 4200 block of 125th Street.

May 18: A 19-year-old Savage man was arrested for interference with an emergency telephone call, misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor liquor violation and officers received a call for a disturbance at a residence in the 4100 block of 126th Street.

BURGARLY

May 15: A Savage resident in the 13800 block of Edgewood Avenue reported items were stolen from his vehicle during the night. The estimated loss is over $600. There are no suspects at this time.

May 16: Two Savage residents in the 4100 block of 125th Street reported that various items were taken from unlocked vehicles during the night. The estimated loss for one party is $15. The second party reported two of their vehicles were missing items and the estimated loss is $410. There are no suspects at this time.

May 16: A Savage resident in the 14100 block of Virginia Avenue reported that various items were stolen out of his vehicle during the night. The estimated loss is nearly $4,000. The case is under investigation.

May 17: Two Savage residents in the 13500 block of Monterey Avenue reported that someone had gone through their vehicle during the night. Nothing was taken from one party's vehicle. The other party was missing items including medical books and a box of rubber gloves, which were later located nearby. There are no suspects.

May 17: A Savage resident in the 13100 block of Ottawa Drive reported that her vehicle had been gone through during the night. The estimated loss is $15. There are no suspects.

May 17: A Savage resident in the 4500 block of 135th Street reported that someone had gone through her vehicle during the night. The estimated loss is approximately $750. There are no suspects at this time.

May 18: The Savage Police Department issued a statement alerting residents of the Dufferin Park Neighborhood after two homes were burglarized in the early morning hours. Residents were home at the time of the burglaries. One occurred in the 14600 block of Yosemite Avenue and the home was entered through an unlocked sliding glass door. The second burglary occurred in the 14900 block of Dufferin Drive and the home was entered through unlocked patio doors. Credit cards were reported taken. The case is under investigation.

May 19: A resident in the 4500 block of 131st 1/2 Street reported items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Stolen items include a backpack and books. The estimated loss is $581. There are no suspects.

May 19: Officers received a report of items stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 14000 block of Virginia Avenue. A purse with credit cards was taken and the victim also reported fraudulent use of a credit card. The estimated loss is $80. The case is under investigation.

May 20: A resident in the 12400 block of Palmer Avenue reported items stolen from his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The estimated loss is $100. There are no suspects.

May 20: A Savage resident reported items stolen from an unlocked vehicle while parked at a residence in the 8100 block of Foxberry Bay. Items stolen included an iPad, laptop and credit cards. The estimated loss was over $1,400. The iPad and laptop were later spotted in a road median by a Fox 9 camera man and recovered.

COUNTERFEIT

May 14: An employee from a Savage business in the 5900 block of Egan Drive reported receiving counterfeit currency in the amount of $100. There are no suspects at this time.

May 15: An employee at a Savage business in the in the 4200 block of Highway 13 reported that someone attempted to use counterfeit currency. The case is under investigation.

FRAUD

May 18: A Savage resident in the 4400 block of 137th Street reported fraudulent activity on his credit card. The case is under investigation.

May 18: A Savage resident in the 14900 block of River Crossing reported she was the victim of an iTunes gift card scam. The estimated loss is $100. There are no suspects.

HARRASSMENT

May 20: A Savage resident in the 7600 block of Southridge Court reported their neighbor for flying a drone in a harassing manner. The neighbor was advised and there are no charges.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

May 18: A Savage resident in the 3500 block of River Oak Drive reported their vehicle was stolen overnight. The car was recovered in Burnsville. The case is under investigation.

May 18: A Savage resident reported that his motorcycle was stolen while parked in a business parking lot in the 7000 block of Highway 13. The case is under investigation.

May 20: A Savage resident in the 4600 block of Highway 13 reported their vehicle was stolen overnight with personal items inside. The estimated loss is $5,620. The vehicle has not been recovered. The case is under investigation.

OBSTRUCTING

May 17: A Savage resident in the 4000 block of 137th Street reported that his wife violated a domestic abuse no contact order by calling him. She was charged with the violation.

May 17: A 45-year-old Savage woman was arrested for violating an order of protection in the 4100 block of 126th Street.

May 19: A citation was issued after officers received a report of a violation of a harassment restraining order in the 7600 block of 147th Terrace.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

May 15: A business owner in the 8900 block of Highway 13 reported a broken lock on a mailbox. The estimated cost to repair is $100. The case is under investigation.

May 15: A Savage business in the 8800 block of Highway 101 reported damage to their mailbox. The estimated cost to repair the damage is $100. The case is under investigation.

STOLEN PROPERTY

May 18: Stolen plates were discovered on a vehicle after an officer located a vehicle parked at O'Connell Park after hours. Suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

THEFT

May 16: A Savage business owner in the 7100 block of 126th Street reported an item missing from a shipment. The loss is unknown and there are no suspects at this time.

May 16: An employee of a Savage business in the 4400 block of Highway 13 reported a gas drive-off in the amount of $30. The case is under investigation.

May 17: An employee of a Savage business in the 12500 block of Zenwood Avenue reported three aluminum pipes were stolen from a work site. The case is under investigation.

May 17: A Savage resident in the 5500 block of Riverwood Drive reported that a light was taken their yard sometime during the night. The estimated loss is $190. There are no suspects at this time.

May 18: An employee from a local business in the 7400 block of Egan Drive reported a gas-drive off in the amount of $9.55. There are no suspects.

TRAFFIC CRIMINAL

May 14: Officers received a report of a school bus stop arm violation at Bohn Court and McColl Drive. There are no suspects.

May 15: An 18-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested at Quebec Avenue and McColl Drive on multiple charges after a gas drive-off was reported in another city. The charges include felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and driving after suspension. The passenger, a 19-year-old Minneapolis man, was also cited on multiple charges.

May 19: A 56-year-old Burnsville woman was arrested for fourth-degree DWI and failure to notify the owner of damaged property after officers were dispatched to an accident scene at O'Connell Drive and Egan Drive. Her blood alcohol level tested at .14. There were no injuries in the accident.

WEAPONS

May 17: Officers are investigating a report of a shot fired in the 8200 block of Carriage Hill Road.
