BRIEF: Elder abuse calls increasing in Medina County

June 13--MEDINA -- Elder abuse cases are climbing in Medina County, the Medina Gazette reports.

There were 367 calls about elder abuse last year to the county Job and Family Services agency, compared to 271 a year earlier.

"I don't see it ending any time soon," supervisor manager Sharon Holmes told county commissioners, according to the newspaper. "That's the way things are trending. More people are becoming aware of things. The more awareness built in, the more they should pay attention."
