According to 12th Judicial District Court records, Alamogordo Police Department officers responded to the visually impaired girl's Alamogordo home around 4:40 a.m.June 2 after receiving a report from the girl's parents about the alleged incident.

Responding APD officers learned through investigation that Whitt is related to the child's father.

The mother told detectives that she went to check on her daughter around 4 a.m., but the girl was not in her bed then the mother started checking the entire room and could not locate the girl, according to records obtained by the Daily News.

Records show the child's uncle went to see if the child was in the bathroom but Whitt was allegedly in the bathroom using the facilities and the door would not open.

The child's parents and uncle told investigators they continued to search for the girl inside the home then located the girl a few minutes later in the girl's bedroom after allegedly hearing the bathroom door open, according to records.

Records show the girl's mother told detectives the girl disclosed what allegedly happened to her then the mother told the girl's father and uncle about the alleged incident.
