Pregnant reality star takes it out on the girlfriend of her baby's father, cops say

Miami Herald - 11/8/2018

Nov. 07--Cameras followed Christmas Abbott when the onetime "Big Brother" contestant appeared on season 19 of the popular reality show last year.

But the former reality star got a different kind of attention on Tuesday: a police camera.

According to an arrest report from the Tampa Police Department, Abbott turned herself in to authorities and was charged with felony criminal mischief after an incident at a local gym. She was released on her own recognizance a short time later.

The report says that on Aug. 18, Christmas drove to the Cigar City CrossFit to confront the alleged mistress of her now one-month-old baby's father, Benjamin Bunn.

The arresting officer says that Abbott threw a coffee cup at the woman and "caused a scene."

Outside the gym, according to the police report, an eyewitness said Abbott got into her white Mercedes-Benz SUV and "intentionally" rammed the woman's car, a black Honda Civic sedan, then put the SUV in reverse and struck the Honda again. Damages amounted to $5,000, the report said.

When police arrived, an officer asked Abbott, who was heavily pregnant, what happened and she began to cry, saying she "lost it" because the woman driving the Honda was cheating with her soon-to-be-born baby's father.

The officer asked Abbott why she took out her angst on the car and she answered that if Bunn's car was there, she would have struck it instead.

The cop also spoke to Bunn, who admitted to dating Abbott, but that they were no longer together.

The victim provided a sworn written statement. During the investigation, "the suspect would scream at the victim even when the victim would try to avoid conflict," the report said. "The victim said she did not feel comfortable being outside due to the suspect screaming. She screamed so loud and at times her actions were boisterous, at one point in time ignoring my request to lower her voice and calm down."

Even though Abbott was arrested, "due to hot weather and her pregnancy status," she was allowed to sit without being handcuffed.

"The suspect told me that it hurt her feelings being cheated on," read the report. "I asked her to not communicate directly with other parties so that the situation does not become volatile."

Abbott was taken to Orient Road Jail but the booking staff declined to process the suspect due to her pregnancy, so the case was filed with the state attorney's office.

The victim's sworn statement said she was at the gym drinking iced coffee and that Abbott approached her, looked at the coffee and asked if Bunn had bought it for her. The victim said yes and then Abbott asked if she was having sex with Bunn and called her a "pathetic home wrecking little slut," among other things, and left.

The suspect threw her drink across the floor and yelled at the child's father prior to leaving to the parking lot, where the alleged car-ramming began.

Last month, Bunn told UsWeekly that he and Abbott had broken up in December, even though he tried to be an upstanding father to the child and co-parent to the TV star, to no avail.

"Unfortunately, I had very little contact with Christmas in the last few months of her pregnancy," he told Us. "However, prior to that, we spent almost every day with each other for six to seven months straight. I went to every doctor's appointment, accompanied her for travel, moved furniture and did all the things that two caring adults do with and for each other."

Bunn said that Abbott cut off contact with him shortly before the boy's Oct. 8 birth in South Carolina, and that the fitness guru only learned about Loyal's birth via the Internet.
