Chicken nuggets recalled over possible wood contamination

Jan. 18--Perdue is recalling approximately 68,000 pounds of chicken nuggets that might contain wood, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.

The recall is for 22-oz. plastic bags of frozen Purdue SimplySmart organic and gluten free breaded chicken nuggets with a best-buy date of 10/25/19 and UPC Bar Code of 72745-80656. They were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The firm received three consumer complaints that wood was found in the product. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
