Compass assessment software is an evaluation assessment test designed for use by professionals who provide services in computer access and augmentative communication. This software measures user performance in skills needed for computer interaction, such as keyboard and mouse use, navigating through menus, and switch use. Properly used, this software rnables the professional to: (1) diagnose difficulties with an existing interface;(2) compare client performance with candidate access systems; (3) plan training interventions; (4) track changes in a client’s abilities over time; and (5) measure the effectiveness of an intervention. This software includes eight different skill tests, each with a wide variety of configuration options to tailor test presentation to a client’s needs. The professional can select the appropriate tests to run with each client, depending on the particular questions to be addressed. Compass collects and helps interpret speed and accuracy data resulting from each skill test. This enables observation of qualitative, subjective aspects of the client’s performance while the computer records quantitative data. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 98 or higher and Pentium processor or higher.
