---- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype of an accessible recording device for individuals with memory or cognitive disabilities. Record me provides the means for caregivers or a user with disabilities to messages and reminders that can be heard later by themselves or others. Rather than rely solely on a notebook or sticky notes on a refrigerator or bulletin board, the Record me allows users to leave a voice message that can be easily recorded and played back. To record a message the user rotates the outer disk of this round device to either the right or left to locate an empty “station” and then press the button in the middle of the device to record the message and press the center button again to stop recording. A light on the device turns red while a message is being recorded, and a white light indicates there is a saved message waiting. To listen to the message, a user turns the dial to the appropriate blinking “station” and presses the center button to listen to the message. If the user wishes to delete the message, he or she pushes and holds the button to delete the message. Record me has twelve message stations and can be mounted on a wall or another location appropriate to the user. TITLE: Sticky Voice on the Wall. WEBSITE: Yanko Design.
