The ARK Therapeutic Cip-Kup Assembly, model Cip-kupSAR, is a drinking bottle with a straw designed for individuals with oral motor difficulties. It features the Select-flow valve, which ultimately controls the fluid’s direction. When the user squeezes the bottle, the fluid will flow towards the top of the straw and remain there even after the user releases the bottle. The fluid will not flow back down, thereby decreasing the effort required to drink. Trimming the Select-flow valve will increase the flow even more and further decrease the effort required for drinking. The Lip Blok, which comes with the ARK Therapeutic Cip-Kup, prevents the user from biting the straw or inserting it too far into his or her mouth. The straw also reduces the amount of air the user ingests while drinking, resulting in less coughing and choking and more consuming of fluids. And since it promotes proper lip and tongue positioning, the ARK Therapeutic Cip-Kup can also help babies transition from using a bottle to using a straw.
