The DIY Seashell Mirror is an occupational therapy craft project designed for people with disabilities to use eye-hand coordination to create a beautiful mirror. The creation of this product can serve as a sensory integration exercise.

Technical Specifications: 

Materials: 1 large mirror, Painter's Touch Gloss in Crystal Clear, E6000® Med Visc 3.7-Ounce Auto/Industrial Carded Adhesive craft glue, and gather enough seashells (about enough to fit the mirror's perimeter x 3)

  • Step 1: Spray the seashells with Painter's Touch Gloss in Crystal Clear (http://www.rustoleum.com/search-results/?searchStr=painter%27s%20touch%20in%20crystal%20clear). This will clean the seashells of dirt and make their patterns stand out.
  • Step 2: Glue the seashells to the perimeter of the mirror with E6000® Med Visc 3.7-Ounce Auto/Industrial Carded Adhesive (about 1 inch apart). Use the largest seashells.
  • Step 3: Repeat Step 2, covering the 1 inch gaps between the seashells with medium size seashells.
    • Step 4: Use artistic ability to choose where to then glue on the smaller seashells
