The Hand Drive wheelchair attachment is a prototype that can be attached to any wheelchair and allows it to be powered in a rowing motion. It is an example of open source product design created by Boston-based Kate Reed, an avid unicyclist and street performer and her partner Nathaniel Tong, a competitive fencer and entrepreneur. The attachment was developed for use with existing wheelchair designs.
