Weaving Through a Rainbow Activity

This Weaving Through a Rainbow Activity is designed for use in a pre-school classroom and teaches coordination and balance as children try to maneuver their way through multi-colored streamers.

Technical Specifications: 

Step 1: Clear tables out of the center of a classroom. Leave at least a good 10 feet of space for this activity.

Step 2: Positions chairs. Line up chairs parallel to one another on both sides of the space in the middle of the classroom.

Step 3: Have the children weave multi-colored streamers in and out of the chairs, from the top of chairs to the bottom of chairs, across one chair to another on the opposite side, making diagonal lines with the multi-colored streamers.

Step 4: Have the children work their way through the streamers. Under and over.

Step 5: Break it down. Have the children run through the rainbow streamers.

Step 6: Easy clean up. Throw away most of the streamers. The rest the children can take home to share about this Weaving Through a Rainbow Activity.
