The Sort and Count Rainbow Puzzle Busy Bag is designed to keep toddlers with special needs calm and focused while teaching counting, sorting, and color identification. There are a few options for fine motor play. Option one: color identification, sorting by number, and making a rainbow.

Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather materials.

  • Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet cardstock
  • Hole punch
  • Bag

Step Two: Hole punch each piece of cardstock. (The more hole punched dots, the bigger the rainbow can be.)

Step Three: Put hole punched dots into the bag.

Step Three: Engage in fine motor play. (There are three options.)

  • Have the child draw lines on a flat surface, about 1 inch apart, making a rainbow.
  • On a flat surface, pull the holl punched dots out of the bad one by one, making a rainbow with them, sorting them by color.
