The LEGO Addition Mat for Greater Than/Less Than Free Printable is a do it yourself product designed for elementary aged children with learning disabilities to learn math and work on fine motor skills.

Technical Specifications:

Step One: Gather materials.

  • Paper
  • Laminating Pouches
  • Laminator
  • 20 LEGO® bricks
  • Dry-erase crayon or marker
  • Scissors

Step Two: Print and laminate all the pages. Laminating the recording page is optional, but it will allow the user to use it multiple times without printing extra copies.

Step Three: Cut apart the addition fact cards & the math symbols (greater than, less than, equal to).

Step Four: Put the LEGO bricks in a small tray (so they don’t fall all over the place).

Step Five: Put the addition fact cards in a pile. Choose two and place them on the large rectangles of the LEGO addition mat.

Step Six: The student builds each problem using the LEGO bricks. For example, 2+3 can be 2 red bricks and 3 orange bricks.

Step Seven: Then, after solving both problems, the children can hold the “sums” hold by side to determine what was greater than, less than or equal to.
