The Adapted 2 wheeler bike is a custom adaptation designed for those individuals with lower extremity disabilities to be able to ride a bicycle with ease. The adaptation is on a 2 wheeler and is designed for individuals who have trouble with their left leg and abduction while riding a bicycle. This student’s left leg was going into abduction and would fall out to the side when they were pedaling. When this happens, the individual would hold onto their leg to hold it in place. To this bicycle, the designer can add a “guard” made out of ABS plastic and attach it to the back of the seat. For rubbing when the individual is wearing shorts, they need to add another piece of ABS plastic with a flared edge extended a little further than the last one. The designer can also add a wide blue burfab strap to hold the individual around the upper torso and also 2 x 42-inch velcro straps to wrap around their feet to keep them on the pedals.
