LapTalk is a voice output computer designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This is a notebook computer with an integrated full-feature screen reader program (Window-Eyes Professional; see separate entry). The computer has an Intel Celeron one gigahertz (GHz) processor and a Windows operating system that allows it to run mainstream software. It has 256 megabytes (MB) random access memory (RAM) and a 20 gigabyte (GB) hard drive. Other features include an office suite that is compatible with Microsoft Office, a built-in modem, an Internet Explorer web browser, a Windows address book, Rich text e-mail, USB ports, a CD-ROM drive, voice recording, and the ability to play music.
