Gaston Gazette - 12/17/2019

A 44-year-old Stanley woman faces a misdemeanor child abuse charge related to a DWI.

Belmont Police Officer C.A. Cape stopped Lisa Lattimore10 p.m. Monday on North Main Street at the intersection with Wilkinson Boulevard after she allegedly ran into the rear of another car that had stopped for a red light, according to an arrest warrant.

Lattimore's 7-year-old daughter was inside the 2018 Kia she was driving at the time, but was not sitting in a booster seat, according to the arrest warrant.

Neither Lattimore nor her daughter was injured in the wreck.

However, a Breath Test indicated Lattimore had a blood-alcohol reading of 0.19, more than twice the legal limit.

North Carolina law considers a driver impaired if they register 0.08 or above.

Lattimore, of Glencrest Drive, Stanley, was unavailable for comment Tuesday.

She posted $5,000 bail and was released from Gaston County Jail at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday.
