Providence man charged with molesting 2 children

Providence Journal - 12/24/2019

Pawtucket police have charged a Providence man with molesting two children.

Kevin Marland, 38, of 80 Clarence St., was arraigned Tuesday in Providence District Court on charges of indecent solicitation of a child, two counts of first degree child molestation sexual assault, and three counts of second degree child molestation sexual assault.

Pawtucket police began investigating in November after receiving the report of a possible child molestation. Marland was charged after reporting to the police station to speak with detectives Monday.

The two children were 8 and 6 years old at the time of the assaults, Pawtucket Police Det. Sgt. Christopher LeFort said. Marland and the children are "known to each other," LeFort said.

Marland was held without bail. Because the charges are felonies, no pleas were entered.
