Summerfield man arrested on child porn charges

Ocala Star-Banner - 11/8/2020

Nov. 8--SUMMERFIELD -- Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Summerfield man and charged him with 20 counts of possession of child pornography.

Detective Nicholas Sutliff received information that someone was uploading files that depict sexual abuse. Sutliff investigated and got a subpoena for the IP address and the internet provider.

He then obtained a search warrant and, on Thursday, accompanied several deputies to a residence off County Road 42, according to an arrest report.

When deputies arrived at the location, they encountered two men and a woman. Jesus Luis Rosado told law enforcement officials that people on Facebook sent him inappropriate videos. He also said his Facebook page had been hacked.

Sutliff interviewed Rosado and obtained passwords for Rosado's phone and tablets.

Reviewing one of Rosado's tablets, deputies found 20 graphic images of child porn.

The man and woman who were with Rosado denied having access to the electronic devices, the report said. Both told deputies that Rosado was the only one using the phone and tablets.

Rosado, 36, was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail for booking.

At his first appearance in front of County Judge Tommy Thompson on Friday morning, Rosado was told that, if convicted, he could face five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each count. Thompson set Rosado's bail at $100,000, and his next court date is in December.
