Bartlesville man convicted in child abuse case

Oct. 11—A Washington County man was convicted Wednesday in a child abuse case that drew widespread outrage in 2020.
Kendall Burnett was convicted of two counts of child neglect, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. District Judge Linda Thomas will render a sentence on Oct. 26.
He was arrested in February 2020, along with wife and co-defendant Ashley Burnett, when explicit Facebook messages between them were discovered related to the abuse of Ashley Burnett's 8-year-old daughter.
Kendall Burnett has previously served prison time for first degree robbery, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and knowingly concealing stolen property.
Court proceedings for charges against Ashley Burnett are scheduled to continue on Oct. 13.
