Merced man arrested, accused of committing sexual acts with children, police say

Oct. 18—Police have arrested a Merced man accused of committing sexual acts with children, according to authorities.

Merced police arrested Donnell McKinley, 61, on Oct. 13, after what police said was a lengthy sexual abuse investigation, according to a Merced Police Department social media post.

Police said a report was filed in April last year and two juvenile victims were identified. After further investigation, police have identified a third victim who is now an adult, authorities said.

According to police, once the investigation was complete, it was turned over to the Merced County District Attorney's Office who issued the warrant for McKinley's arrest.

He was booked into Merced County Jail on suspicion of felony sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10-years-old or younger, oral copulation/sexual penetration 10-years-old or younger, aggravated sexual assault of a child and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years, according to jail records.

He remains in custody in lieu of $1,650,000 bond.
