4 charged with domestic battery

Mar. 7—EDWARDSVILLE — Four people face domestic battery charges in separate cases filed Monday by the Madison County State's Attorney's Office.

Cruz C. Dixon, 27, of Carlinville, was charged March 6 with aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony; aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony; and domestic battery (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony.

The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.

According to court documents, on March 4 Dixon allegedly strangled a household or family member and pulled their hair, knowing the woman was pregnant.

Bail was set at $75,000.

Michael R. Randol, 36, of Alton, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony; domestic battery (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony; and obstructing a peace officer, a Class A misdemeanor.

The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.

According to court documents, on March 3 Randol allegedly strangled a household or family member. On March 5 he allegedly refused to obey the lawful commands of a police officer by concealing himself in an effort to evade being placed under arrest.

Bail was set at $50,000.

Deandre S. Pritle, 18, of Edwardsville, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

The case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department.

According to court documents, on March 2 Pirtle allegedly strangled a household or family member, struck them in the face and head, and pushed then.

Bail was set at $50,000.

Robert D. Buckingham, 38, of Granite City, was charged with domestic battery (three prior convictions for domestic battery), a Class 3 felony.

The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.

According to court documents, on March 4 Buckingham allegedly threw a household or family member into a wall, causing them to strike their head.

He has convictions for aggravated battery out of Madison County in 2015, aggravated battery (second subsequent offense) out of Madison County in 2016, and attempted aggravated domestic battery/strangulation and domestic battery (second subsequent offense) out of St. Clair County in 2021.
