Pa. man charged with molesting teen on ATV: report

Patriot-News - 3/23/2023

A Brookville, Jefferson County, man has landed in jail after being accused of groping and molesting a 13-year-old girl while taking her on an ATV ride, according to WJAC.

Anthony Brown, 60, faces charges of corruption of minors, unlawful contact, and indecent assault after being accused of assaulting the teenager near his home in Winslow Township.

According to an affidavit, the victim explained to state troopers that it happened when she and her father visited Brown to “help him do some work.” During the visit, the teenager asked Brown to take her for a ride on his 4-wheeler, which he did.

During the ride, Brown and the teen switched positions so she was driving, and Brown held onto her. The teen claimed Brown said, “This is what I would do if something were to happen.”

Brown then grabbed the 13-year-old and began cupping her breasts, the affidavit said. When they returned from the ride, police said Brown also groped her backside and “hugged and kissed her.” After this happened, she demanded her father take her home.

According to authorities, the teen wrote about the incident for a school assignment, which resulted in a Childline report being sent to the police.

Investigators attempted to contact Brown for questioning multiple times. When they finally were able to speak to him, he denied knowing the teen and her father, but later admitted the father used to work for him. He also admitted to hanging out with the two inside his garage, the affidavit stated.

Arraigned Wednesday, Brown is now being held at the Jefferson County Jail on $30,000 bail.
