Mar. 27—CORINTH — A Corinth couple is facing child abuse and drug charge following the death of a 2-month-old child last week.

Corinth police were called to a 3200 Proper Street apartment March 23 around 10:50 a.m. for a baby that was not breathing. When officers arrived, the child was unresponsive and pale. An officer began CPR until the ambulance arrived and medics took over. The child was carried to the Magnolia Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Coroner Jay Jones has sent body to the State Medical Examiner's office in Pearl for an autopsy.

There were two other small children in the home at the time. Child Protective Services responded to the scene and took custody of the other children.
