The Binocular Galilean System for Near, model 1636, is a binocular magnifier for near-sighted tasks that require free hands such as reading or detailed inspection work for individuals with low vision. They are small lightweight optical systems comprised of a positive objective lens and a negative ocular lens. The system is designed to provide a perfect fit with adjustable bars for the pupillary distance, cold bend tempels, and an adjustable bridge. The lens is Achromatic and has a magnification ranging from 2.5x to 4x and a field of view ranging from 15 to 8 degrees. They are mounted in a frame of black plastic reinforced with fiberglass that comes with a leather zipper case. The Monocular System, model 1637, has the same features but instead of an attached frame, it comes with a slip-on attachment for spectacle wearers. It can be used without the attachment as a hand held telescope. DIMESIONS: Lenses are 23 mm in diameter. They provide a visual field of 160m/1000m * 9.5 degrees and a focus range from 70 cm to infinity. WEIGHT: Binocular is 70 grams. Monocular is 30 grams. WARRANTY: One year limited.
