Coronavirus outbreak in Italy causes suspension of ‘Mission Impossible VII’ filming

Patriot-News - 2/25/2020

The coronavirus outbreak has struck in the film industry.

The filming of new Tom Cruise movie, “Mission Impossible VII,” in Italy is on hold because of a surge of cases there, according to a report from CNN.

According to CNN, filming was to take place in Venice.

“The epicenter of the outbreak is in northern Italy, and the number of confirmed cases hit at least 229 by Monday,” CNN reported.

According to the report, Paramount has suspended filming “out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew.”

The cast and crew have been sent home. Cruise had reportedly not yet arrived.
