CSU Pueblo students to showcase work at virtual symposium

Pueblo Chieftain - 11/10/2020

Because of the coronavirus outbreak, Colorado State University Pueblo's Communities for Building Active STEM Engagement is hosting a virtual student research symposium starting today.

The event, which will run through Thursday, will showcase work of students during the 2020 fall semester.

This is the sixteenth year for the student research symposium and will offer three evenings of video presentations along with question and answer sessions.

"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to switch the symposium to a virtual format, and will instead feature all of our students 'film fest' style by having a lineup of their pre-recorded research presentations, with live Q&A with the student researchers after each video," said Abby Davidson, director of the Science Learning Center and assistant director of the engagement program.

The virtual research symposium will be held over three evenings featuring five sessions. Presentations will be both done individually and by groups of students with biology, chemistry, physics, civil engineering technology, engineering and teacher education projects featured. The virtual research symposium is free and open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members to attend. Zoom links will be used for each session for individuals to attend the desired presentation.
