N.L. tells returning workers to self-isolate

Rotational workers returning to Newfoundland and Labrador from a worksite in Brandon have been advised to self-isolate after their government was informed of a COVID-19 outbreak at the worksite.

“The department is advising rotational workers about an identified COVID-19 outbreak at the Seymour Pacific Developments worksite in Brandon, Manitoba. The department was notified about the outbreak by the Public Health Agency of Canada as individuals from this province work with the company,” the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador said in a statement published Tuesday afternoon.

This information was confirmed by a spokesperson for Newfoundland and Labrador Health and Community Services on Wednesday.

When asked to confirm if there is a COVID-19 outbreak at a Seymour Pacific Developments worksite in Brandon, a spokesperson for the Manitoba government said “Manitoba public health is aware of the possible outbreak at a worksite in Brandon. The investigation is underway and more details will be shared as they become available.”
