Ontario County Public Health: 31 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 31 new community-acquired COVID-19 cases, but for the seventh day in a row, no new deaths.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,568 Ontario County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19. One hundred people have died.

Many cases are related household contacts, college students, and a few community cases.

There are 221 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 307 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 528 in the isolation and quarantine category.

There are 28 hospitalized patients, which is down from 29 hospitalizations over the weekend.

With 58 recoveries in the last 24 hours, 5,254 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.
